Shimadzu Highlights LC-MS/MS Platforms at the ADLM Clinical Expo in Anaheim

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (booth 1553) is displaying two LC-MS platforms this week at ADLM that help to streamline sample prep, increase throughput, and improve workflow consistency.

Nexera QX Multiplex LC-MS/MS

The Nexera QX Multiplex LC-MS/MS system uses multiple, alternating sample introduction streams for continuous operation of the mass spectrometer to significantly increase laboratory throughput and profitability. Multiple Stream technology eliminates waiting for column equilibration and system flushing. The system features UHPLC hardware engineered for multiplexing, leading to ultra-fast performance with ultra-low carryover.

Dedicated QX Solution software provides an automated single point of control for multiple UHPLC streams and the mass spectrometer for a multiplexed workflow. QX Solution simplifies valve switching, gradient control and injection timing and can execute automatic flushing from dedicated pumps to reduce autosampler and column carryover to a minimum. In addition, online 2D LC provides automated trap and elute sample preparation to minimize costs and maximize throughput.

CLAM-2040 Automated Sample Preparation Module

Designed for laboratories running routine LC/MS analyses, the CLAM-2040 improves overall efficiency of sample preparation and analysis by reducing manual operations, saving time and expense. Process automation enables users to conduct LC/MS analyses around the clock, even on weekends. Operating the system requires no technical know-how, and analysis start-up is straightforward and fast due to ease of use. In addition, the fully automated sample preparation prevents operator errors and ensures reproducible sample results.

The CLAM-2040 module and LC-MS/MS can deliver up to one result every 2.6 minutes under optimized conditions. Users can add samples and consumables continuously and have the option to submit priority analysis requests for urgent (STAT) samples without batch disruption. In addition, users have the flexibility to use pre-existing, dedicated assays or to create their own. The LCMS configuration is customizable for future upgrades. High-resolution LCMS is also available via quadrupole time-of-flight (Q-TOF) mass spectrometry to facilitate large screenings.
