Release of Double- or Triple- Resonance Auto Switched High-sensitivity COOL Probe “SuperCOOL MARVEL HFX Duo”
JEOL Ltd. (President & CEO Izumi Oi) announced the release of Double- or Triple- Resonance Auto Switched High-sensitivity COOL Probe “SuperCOOL MARVEL HFX Duo” for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, NMR, on September 2nd, 2026. Its sales are scheduled to begin in September 2026.
Expanding the Possibilities of ¹⁹F NMR with a High-Sensitivity HFX Cryoprobe
SuperCOOL MARVEL HFX Duo has the features of high-sensitivity probe ”SuperCOOL MARVEL” launched in 2024 and double- or triple- resonance auto switched probe ”ROYALPROBETM HFX” launched in 2017.
By adding Idler coil to the electronic circuit based on SuperCOOL MARVEL, the system is capable of performing double- or triple- resonance automatic switching measurements with high-sensitivity.
SuperCOOL MARVEL HFX Duo can be used for general double resonance measurement. It also supports triple resonance measurements such as 13C observation with 1H and 19F double decoupling using the Multi Frequency Drive System (MFDS), as well as time-share decoupling-based measurements including 1H or 19F observation with decoupling and 19F observation with 1H and 13C double decoupling.
This probe is essential for high-sensitivity measurement of 19F containing compounds.
Main Features
1) High-sensitivity1H / 19F/ X triple resonance measurement on 2ch spectrometer
This product enables high-sensitivity 1H / 19F/ X triple resonance measurement on 2ch spectrometer by combining techniques of Idler coil, MFDS, and time-share decoupling.
SuperCOOL MARVEL HFX Duo has more than 2.6 times the sensitivity of our representative room-temperature liquid NMR probe, ”ROYALPROBETM HFX”, for 13C measurements at 600 MHz. This probe can be used not only for 1H / 19F/ X triple resonance measurement but also for diffusion or variable-temperature measurements.
2) Opened Cooling system
This product adopts an open cooling system that uses liquid nitrogen to cool the RF coil and preamplifier. The open cooling system allows liquid nitrogen replenishment during operation, enabling seamless measurement without interruption due to refrigerant replenishment. This system is expected to offer high cost performance by reducing both the initial cost and running cost compared to cooling systems that require cooling at liquid helium temperatures.
