Anton Paar Introduces New UNHT Series for Nanoindentation

Anton Paar is expanding its material characterization portfolio with the new UNHT Series. The UNHT 700 and UNHT 300 Bio nanoindentation testing systems are designed for different materials and application areas.
A key feature of the series is direct referencing to the sample surface. This reduces influences such as thermal drift and instrument frame compliance while minimizing the need for subsequent corrections to the measurement data. This supports reliable determination of indentation depth and the mechanical properties derived from it.
“Reliable nanoindentation depends not only on measurement resolution, but also on how effectively the system controls factors that can influence the results,” explains Pavel Sedmak, Product Manager for the UNHT Series at Anton Paar. “With the new UNHT Series, we have combined surface-referenced measurement with faster workflows and expanded measurement capabilities.”
UNHT 700 for a Range of Measurement Tasks
The UNHT 700 offers high-speed indentation, mapping capabilities, positioning accuracy down to 100 nm, SPM imaging, and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) up to 300 Hz. These capabilities enable extensive measurement series and the characterization of complex materials, among other applications.
UNHT 300 Bio for Soft and Biological Materials
The UNHT 300 Bio is designed for the characterization of soft and biological materials such as tissue, hydrogels, and polymers. It also offers automatic contact detection and dedicated measurement protocols for biological samples.
Both systems feature a redesigned software environment that supports the individual steps of the measurement workflow and simplifies operation from sample preparation through to measurement data analysis.
