Verder Grows Scientific Division
Vleuten, the Netherlands 2/6/18—Verder Scientific has acquired Qness, which manufacturers hardness testing machines. Qness has 40 employees. “With ATM and Qness, the two technological leaders in metallography and hardness testing are united under the roof of Verder Scientific. Qness will have access to additional resources to push international expansion and extend its innovative product range,” explained Verder Scientific CEO Dr. Jürgen Pankratz. Qness will maintain its headquarters in Austria with the existing management.
Also part of the Verder’s Scientific Division are ATM, Retsch, Retsch Technology, Eltra and Carbolite Gero. This purchase adds a physical property testing system business to the Division.
Excluding this latest acquisition, the Scientific Division has annual revenues of €150 million ($169 million at €0.89 = $1) and has 750 employees, according to its website. In total, Verder, which also includes the Liquids Division that makes positive displacement pumps, has 1,600 employees.
