Cary, NC 5/2/13—ABB has announced an agreement to acquire Los Gatos Research (LGR), a supplier of gas analyzers for research and environmental monitoring based in Mountain View, California. LGR’s offerings consist of analyzers for real-time trace-gas and isotope measurement utilizing Off-Axis Integrated Cavity Output Spectroscopy. LGR’s 2013 sales are projected to be $14 million. “LGR fills a gap in our technology portfolio and brings a host of new solutions that are vital to industrial customers, such as oil and gas production, and transportation, combustion, emissions, power generation and environmental monitoring,” said Kishore Sundararajan, Global Business Unit manager of ABB’s Measurement Products. The company will be part of ABB’s Measurement Products unit, which is within its Process Automation Division. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the third quarter.
