Accelrys Adds to Software Offerings
As Accelrys seeks to grow its sales to industrial end-users, ChemSW provides it with greater access to this user base. ChemSW software also fits with Accelrys’s emphasis on the lab-to-production value chain.
San Diego, CA 9/3/13—Lab informatics firm Accelrys has acquired ChemSW, a provider of compliance solutions for environmental health and safety, including automated chemical inventory management, for $15.3 million in cash. The acquisition is expected to be modestly accretive to Accelrys’s non-GAAP EPS for 2013 and contribute $1–$2 million in non-GAAP revenues this year. ChemSW employees, including management, will join Accelrys. The acquisition price is subject to working capital and adjustments.
