Analytik Jena Acquires Stake in Japanese Company
Techno X’s line of XRF systems enables Analytik Jena to offer a broader line of atomic spectroscopy products. Among the company’s products that are exclusively sold by Analytik Jena is its XRF system for measuring radioactive cesium, which was developed for use in Japan following last year’s nuclear incident.
Jena, Germany and Osaka, Japan 12/3/12—Analytik Jena has purchased a 21.1% stake in Japanese firm Techno X. Analytik Jena has sold Techno X’s X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) instruments in Japan since October 2011 (see IBO 12/31/11). “We are also pleased that the sales partnership in which we are linking our partner’s technological expertise in X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy with Analytik Jena’s sales expertise is going so well,” stated Analytik Jena CEO Klaus Berka. “This stake is another major step towards expanding our range of analytical instrumentation products.” Techno X was founded in 2009 and has 20 employees.
