Agilent opened a new X-ray diffraction (XRD) manufacturing facility in Wroclaw, Poland, in November 2012, which replaces a nearby facility.
Oxford Instruments announced in November 2012 the return of NDT Products as a distributor and service provider for the X-MET7000 Series X-ray fluorescence spectrometers (XRF) in Canada. NDT will focus on selling the products exclusively to the positive materials identification and scrap metal alloy markets.
In January, Oxford Instruments named Eastern Applied Research a distributor of the X-MET7000 Series XRF for the Northeast US.
In February, Oxford Instruments appointed Roquest Technologies as a Canadian distributor of its X-MET7000 Series and X-Supreme8000 XRF spectrometers.
Expanding their existing relationship, PANalytical announced in December 2012 the exclusive distribution of OBLF’s optical emission spectrometers (OES) in several European countries, the US, Canada and Brazil. PANalytical services and supports combined systems.
Product Introductions
Rigaku introduced in November 2012 the new FR-X rotating anode X-ray source, featuring a new generator that provides 20% more flux than the previous model.
Bruker launched the N8 HORIZON small and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS) system, featuring a compact vertical design.
Bruker released the METALJET microfocus X-ray source for structural biology applications. It is now offered exclusively by Bruker as a source option for D8 Venture protein crystallography systems and for the Nanostar SAXS systems. It was developed in collaboration with Excillum and Incoatec.
SPECTRO Analytical Instruments introduced an application package for precious metal analysis for the xSORT handheld XRF.
In January, Hitachi High-Technologies Japan introduced the ZA3000 Series Zeeman atomic absorption spectrometers, which can automatically detect bumping.
LECO launched the CS744 Series carbon/sulfur analyzer for use with metals, ores, ceramics and other inorganic materials. It features an improved IR cell design.
Oxford Instruments released the X-MET7000 eXpress handheld XRF, featuring a faster analysis time.
Olympus NDT launched the DELTA Professional handheld XRF with performance enhancements.
In February, PANalytical released the ScatterX78 for its Empyrean XRD platform. The compact SAXS/WAXS attachment can extend measurements to scattering angles up to 78°.
Bruker introduced the aurora Elite inductively coupled plasma–MS spectrometer, featuring 1.5 GHz sensitivity and all-digital detector.
