For Diploma’s fiscal year ending September 30, 2015, Environmental sales increased 1% in constant currencies to make up 15% of Life Sciences revenues, or £15.5 million ($23.8 million), as a1-envirosciences sales grew 6% in euros, and ai-CBISS sales declined 4%.

For the fiscal half year ending October 3, 2015, Halma Environmental & Analysis revenue grew 14.4%, 10% organically, to £87.2 million ($134.4 million) to account for 23% of sales (see IBO 11/30/15). Following weak demand in the previous year, sales rose for all three business units (Water, Photonics and Environmental Monitoring). Sales in the US, Asia Pacific and Europe each grew double digits organically to account for 42%, 19% and 15% of segment sales, respectively. UK and Other sales grew 8% and 6% to represent 17% and 7%, respectively. Segment adjusted operating profit rose 24.5% to £14.8 million ($22.8 million).

Agilent Technologies announced in November 2015 the dedication of a $45 million Customer and Technology Center in Waldbronn, Germany, to open in spring 2017.

Agilent Technologies named Dr. Mitchell Guttman, assistant professor of biology and biological engineering at the California Institute of Technology, winner of its 2015 Early Career Professor Award.

Agilent Technologies gave a Thought Leader Award to Dr. Jeffrey Gordon, director of the Center for Genome Sciences and Systems Biology at Washington University School of Medicine, in support of his human microbiome research, including the study of microbial metabolites.

In November 2015, Trajan Scientific and Medical opened a new business unit, Instruments, Sensors and Devices, located at the University of Adelaide’s Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing.

In December 2015, Illumina announced promotions: Tristan Orpin became executive vice president, Clinical Genomics; Omead Ostadan was named executive vice president, Operations, Products and Strategy; Marc Stapley was named executive vice president and chief administrative officer; and Christian Henry became executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
