Bruker Buys Combustion Analysis Company
JUWE was initially founded to provide support for Stroehlein AG products and introduced its own systems in 2004. Bruker continues to invest in metals analysis, strengthening its industrial market presence.
Karlsruhe and Viersen, Germany 1/3/08—Bruker AXS GmbH has agreed to acquire JUWE Laborgeräte GmbH, a provider of combustion analysis systems for the analysis of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur. In 2007, JUWE recorded revenues of approximately $3 million. The renamed Bruker JUWE GmbH will be relocated to Kalkar, Germany, where together with Bruker Quantron GmbH, a center of excellence will be formed for elemental analysis, particularly metals analysis applications. “The JUWE combustion analysis systems and technology are very complementary to our spark-OES product line, as well as to Bruker AXS’ XRF systems,” stated Paul Friedhoff, founder and executive chairman of Bruker Quantron GmbH. “The addition of Bruker JUWE will make it possible to offer the various elemental analysis technologies from a single source in the future, and will further strengthen our combined industrial analysis business.” The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter.
