Cellectis granted Harvard Apparatus, a Harvard Bioscience company, an exclusive license to manufacture and sell for research use the full line of electroporation-based instruments that it acquired from CytoPulse (see IBO 11/30/10). Cellectis will receive a $1.3 million payment.

In February, InDevR announced the establishment of six distribution agreements for the ViroCyte 2100 Virus Counter, including distributors for Japan, Korea, the US, India, China and parts of Europe.

BD Biosciences and BD Diagnostics acquired rights from Advanced Analytical Technologies to market its Micro PRO Microbial Detection System as the BD FACSMicro Count flow cytometry system for industrial microbiology.

Beckman Coulter introduced the MoFlow Astrios next-generation cell sorter, featuring the ItelliSort II bead-less drop delay determination and monitoring system.

Molecular Devices released MetaMorph NX Software, featuring a redesigned user interface for easier use.

Nexcelom Bioscience introduced user-changeable fluorescence optics modules for its Cellometer Vision cell counter and analyzer, bringing the total available to seven standard models.

Roche Diagnostics launched the xCELLigence System RTCA HT system for automated screening applications. One to four plates can be run independently on up to four RTCA HT stations.

Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the simple-to-operate, low-cost Thermo Scientific CellInsight Personal Cell Imager for high-content analysis, featuring typical plate scan times of less than four minutes for a 96-well plate.

In March, Thermo Fisher Scientific launched the ToxInsight DILI Assay Cartridge for assessing the liver toxicity risk of chemical compounds. It is designed to be used with the Thermo Scientific ToxInsight IVT image cytometry platform.

NanoTherics introduced the low-cost Magnefect-LT for oscillating magnet–assisted transfection.

Applied BioPhysics released a new impedance-based assay for automated cell proliferation measurements.

Stratedigm launched the “Ex” upgrade for its S1000 flow cytometer, which enables the simultaneous detection of up to 14 colors.

InQ Biosciences introduced the InQ Cell Research System, which automates cell culture processes and features an onboard microscope for real-time analysis.

GE Healthcare released the IN Cell Analyzer 6000 cellular analysis system. The confocal imaging platform features an optical system with a variable aperture.
