Brooks Automation announced its January the acquisition of the Celigo Cell Cytometer product line from Cyntellect for up to $9.2 million. The acquisition includes the majority of employees.

Thermo Fisher Scientific announced in January a collaboration with De Novo Software to provider FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry software users with access to data generated by Thermo Scientific high-content platforms.

In February, Nanion acquired the SURFE2R technology for the measure of transporter protein activity and function. The technology was developed by IonGate/Scientific Devices Heidelberg.

Chip-Man Technologies changed its name in March to CM Technologies.

Product Introductions

NanoTherics launched the magnefect-nano II and magnefect-LT DUO Transfection Devices, higher-throughput version of previous products, which enable 192 transfection experiments to be performed in parallel.

Molecular Devices introduced in January a Digital Confocal Module for use on its ImageXpress Micro High Content Screening systems. It cuts exposure times by at least half.

Molecular Devices released the PatchXpress Plus, which is a current-clamp upgrade kit for its PatchXpress 7000A automated parallel patch clamp system. The kit enables the analysis of cardiac and neuronal cell excitability through measurement of action potentials.

Corning launched the Corning Epic Pharmacology label-free cellular profiling service for drug discovery.

Applied Cytometry released VenturiOne 6.0 flow cytometry data analysis software.

In February, Nanion introduced the Orbit 16 for automated formation of and recordings from 16 bilayers in parallel. It is the first product in the company’s line for efficient analysis of bilayer-reconstituted ion channels and nanopores.

IntelliCyt introduced in February the MultiCyt Screening Kits for use with its HTFC Screening System: the MultiCyt Hybridoma Screening Kit, the MultiCyt Count and Capture-IgG Secretion Screening Kit, and the MultiCyt Cell Encoder Screening Kit.

In March, Stratedigm launched the A600 High-Throughput Auto Sampler for its flow cytometers.

Logos Biosystems introduced the Luna Automated Cell Counter, which is its completely redesigned, second-generation system.

Cellectricon released the Dynaflow Resolve System, which is an automated perfusion system that allows the recording of any ion channel current using any cell type and any compound. It features the Resolve Glass Chip for reusability and adsorption-free perfusion.
