PerkinElmer and Accelrys integrated their respective Columbus image data management system for high-content screening (HCS) and Pipeline Pilot data analysis and reporting platform.

GE Healthcare agreed in April to commercialize Cytori Therapeutics’ StemSource technology in the North American stem cell banking and research markets. The technology includes automated equipment to process stem and regenerative cells found in adipose tissue, cryopreserve them and use them directly for research purposes. In January, the companies signed an agreement for Europe.

Accuri Cytometers opened a UK office in St. Ives with 10 employees, according to UK Trade & Investment.

In July, Accuri Cytometers completed a $4 million round of Series D financing.

In June, BD Bioscience introduced the compact, special order BD LSRFortessa cell analyzer for conducting complex multicolor flow cytometry experiments. It supports up to five lasers.

Chip-Man Technologies named ChiFi (Shanghai) Biomedical Engineering its distributor for China.

CellASIC launched in April its newest version of the ONIX microfluidic perfusion system, featuring direct control of temperature and CO2 on the microfluidic plate.

MDS Analytical Technologies introduced MetaXpressPowerCore software for increased image analysis speeds in HCS screens, and the MetaXpress 3.0 image acquisition and analysis software, featuring the Micronuclei Application Module for quantitating micronuclei.

GE Healthcare launched the IN Cell Analyzer 2000, a flexible cell-imaging system for performing investigative microscopy through to automated screening, and imaging of organelles, cells, tissues and whole organisms.

Thermo Fisher Scientific released the HCSDiscover data mining tool, developed in collaboration with GeneData AG.

Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Thermo Scientific Cellomics ToxInsight Solution, a cell imaging system for assessing toxicity in vitro, featuring pre-validated panels of toxicity assessment targets.

In May, Amnis launched the ImageStreamX imaging flow cytometer, its second-generation system, featuring faster sample throughput and more detection channels.

Accuri Cytometers released the CSampler automation accessory for its C6 Flow Cytometer System.

Fluxion Biosciences introduced the BioFlux 1000 Workstation, a cell analysis system that integrates Well Plate Microfluidic technology with automated microscopy for high-throughput shear flow assays.

Millipore launched the guava easyCyte 8HT flow cytometry system, a compact, affordable, six-color detection system with 96-well automation.
