Danaher’s Latest Acquisition
ASI provides solutions for pathology, cytogenetics and research. Application areas include immunohistochemistry, FISH and spectral imaging. If completed, the acquisition will add to the digital pathology business of Danaher’s Leica Biosystems unit. ASI’s research products include a chemical imaging platform utilizing UV to NIR wavelengths for analysis of biological samples.
Rishon LeZion, Israel 7/14/15—Citing anonymous sources, Israel’s Globes newspaper reports that Danaher has signed a letter of intent to purchase Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) for $30 million. Headquartered in Israel, ASI provides computer imaging solutions for microscopes for genetic testing applications. ASI sells software and hardware. Its products are FDA approved. The newspaper reports that ASI has raised $26 million since it was established in 1993.
