Roche and Hamilton introduced in February an integrated platform enabling automated DNA sample enrichment for Roche‘s 454 GS Junior sequencer.

In February, Real Time Genomics launched its genome analytics platform for the interpretation of genomes in the study of early childhood disease.

CLC bio released in March an add-on module to CLC Genomics Workbench for microbial genome finishing.

In April, Appistry released the first fully supported commercial release of the Broad Institute’s Genome Analysis Toolkit for NGS analysis.

Covaris launched the single-tube FFPE DNA Extraction Kit for DNA extraction from FFPE tissue samples.

Swift Biosciences released the Accel-NGS DNA Library Kit for producing PCR-free libraries with as little as 5 ng of input DNA and from samples without intact double-stranded DNA.

In March, Life Technologies’ Applied Biosystems 3500xL Dx Genetic Analyzer received approval from the China State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). Life and Daan Gene jointly launched 10 clinical diagnostic assays for it, one of which is SFDA registered.

In April, Life Technologies launched the Ion AmpliSeq BRCA1 and BRCA2 Panel design and the Colon and Lung Panel design.

Life Technologies released the Oncomine Gene Browser and Ion Reporter Oncomine Workflow.

In April, GnuBIO began shipping GnuBIO systems to beta sites. The fully integrated system provides sequencing for known variants and of gene panels with quantification of CNVs. It will sell for $50,000.

Illumina introduced TruSign Tumor for somatic variant detection in solid tumors. It is the first content set designed for somatic variant detection on the MiSeq platform.
