EMD Millipore Exclusively Licenses Singulex Technology
The Erenna Immunoassay System and immune capture–based assay accurately quantifies biomarkers at femtogram/mL concentrations with a dynamic range of 4 logs, according to Singulex. Singulex is licensing the business so it can focus on its diagnostics businesses.
Billerica, MA 5/21/15; Alameda, CA 5/21/15—EMD Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck KGaA, has acquired exclusive rights to Singulex’s Life Science Research business for an undisclosed upfront payment, royalties and milestone payments. Singulex’s SMC (Single Molecule Counting) technology is designed for ultrahigh sensitivity protein detection. “The Erenna platform offers the unique advantage of unrivaled sensitivity and precision and will be a strong addition to our Protein Detection franchise,” stated EMD Millipore President and CEO Udit Batra. EMD Millipore will control and manage the business, and has rights to further develop the technology.
