Emerson Adds to On-line Water Analysis Technologies

The acquisition adds to Emerson’s presence in the market for on-line water analysis. Each Scientific Instruments’ monitor measures up to six streams. Emerson highlighted the CFA 185 analyzer, which utilizes valve pump technology for reduced maintenance and reagent consumption.

St. Louis, MO 5/14/09—Emerson Process Management has acquired Scientific Instruments’ on-line wet chemistry analyzers product line for an undisclosed price. The product line includes silica, sodium, phosphate and hydrazine monitors that are used to control plant processes in the power and water treatment markets. The product lines have become part of Emerson’s Rosemount Analytical division. “This acquisition strengthens our offering of solutions for the power market, in particular for Sample Water Analysis Systems,” stated Ken Biele, president of Rosemount Analytical. “In addition, it provides increased capabilities in our drinking and waste water product offering.”
