Reinach, Switzerland 6/26/12—Measurement instrumentation firm Endress+Hauser has acquired SpectraSensors for an undisclosed amount. SpectraSensors develops, manufactures and distributes laser-based gas analytical instruments utilizing tunable diode lasers. Based in Texas, the company has annual sales of $30 million and employs 90 people. “With SpectraSensors we are expanding our range in the field of analytics to include liquids and gases. In addition, we are strengthening our position as a supplier to the oil and gas industry,” said Endress+Hauser CEO Klaus Endress. “Gas analysis will play an important role in many future key markets, for example in safeguarding energy supplies—a significant and growing business.” SpectraSensors will remain an independent company and Managing Director George Balogh will continue to head it.
