DANI Instruments opened a US subsidiary in New Jersey in January.
INFICON first quarter Emergency Response & Security revenue rose 60% to $8.8 million to make up 12% of company sales due to demand for portable devices to analyze toxic organic substances.
In May, VUV Analytics closed a $5.8 million Series A equity investment, led by S3 Ventures.
Agilent Technologies and Bruker announced in June a joint agreement to exchange information for the development of drivers for their respective GC systems. The drivers will be available by the end of the year.
Product Introductions
VUV Analytics introduced in March the VFA-100 GC detector, a universal, nondestructive detector for vacuum UV optical spectroscopy, enabling lower detection limits and greater information content.
Battelle released the portable GC-based AirAlert workplace safety device for early detection, with continuous data collection of dangerous airborne chemicals, such as volatile phosphorus concentrations and volatile sulfur compounds.
In April, Agilent Technologies launched a collection of new products that enhance column connection, prolong column life and extend the inert flow path.
Agilent Technologies introduced the Chromosorb W support materials for packed GC columns.
Shimadzu introduced in May the ChromSquareV2 software for GCxGC(MS) for easier and more reliable data analysis.
