Product Introductions
LECO introduced in May a pulsed electron impact ionization source as an add-on option for its Pegasus GC-HRT system. It is designed to improve instrument sensitivity by an order of magnitude, from 1 pg (1,000 fg) to 100 fg.
In July, Agilent introduced a series of Agilent J&W GC columns designed for environmental and pharmaceutical applications: DB-UI 8270D Ultra Inert columns for active semivolatile organic compounds, DB-624UI Ultra Inert columns for volatile compounds, DB-Select 624UI <467> columns for the analysis of residual solvents, and DB-CLP1 and BD-CLP2 columns for Contract Laboratory Program target pesticides.
Authentix launched the new Authentix MSX 1000 fuel test system, a field-deployable system that uses GC/MS to detect Authentix Mass Differentiated markers in fuels.
In August, JEOL introduced the 4G model of the AccuTOF GCv GC-TOF system. It has a maximum data acquisition rate of 50 spectra/second and a resolving power of 8000 FWHM. The acquisition rate makes it possible to acquire high-resolution mass spectra in combination with third-party two-dimensional GC.
