SLS Micro Technology GmbH introduced the compact GCM Micro Box. Available in four models, it features the GCM 5000 micro GC module, which is a printed circuit board with an injector, thermal conductivity detector and fixed separation column.

As part of a resale agreement, Alpha Omega Technologies, which supplies custom analyzers to the petrochemical market, is incorporating PerkinElmer’s GC products into its offerings for the US and Canada.

Agilent and Cerno Bioscience are jointly marketing Cerno’s MassWorks calibration software to Agilent’s single quadrupole GC/MSD ChemStation users.

Alpha MOS’s fiscal 2009 sales for the year ended September 2009 rose 13.7% to €6.4 million ($8.7 million). Operating loss was €1.7 million ($2.3 million), compared to a loss of €99,000 ($147,761) for the prior year.

In January, OI signed an extended and modified value-added reseller agreement with Agilent, which includes new sales-volume targets and provides volume-based discounts for eligible products. The agreement runs through December 31.

Torion Technology announced four new distributors: Brechbühler AG for Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Benelux; S.T. Japan for Japan; Analytik Jena for Taiwan; and Oasis Biologics for Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Sales for INFICON’s Emergency Response & Security business declined 29.2% in 2009 to $22.5 million to make up 12% of company sales.

Product Introductions

Macherey-Nagel introduced the OPTIMA 5 HT GC column, which features temperature stability up to 400° C.

Agilent Technologies launched the 7000B triple quadrupole GC/MS for ultra-trace level results. Compared to the 7000A, it features a more sensitive electron ionization source and a new chemical ionization source.

Agilent introduced two Greenhouse Gases Analyzers, which are based on the 7890A GC and configured with a multivalve, micro-electron capture detector, and methanizer-Flame Ionization Detector (FID) combination. They can simultaneous analyze methane, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide in air samples, and can be expanded to determine sulfur hexafluoride.

PerkinElmer launched the Clarus 680 GC, which features a 30% increase in sample capacity and greater sample throughput.

Thermo Fisher Scientific released the Thermo Scientific ultra-low bleed TraceGOLD GC capillary columns.

Falcon Analytical launched the CALIDUS micro GC Model 301, a dual-column, dual-FID lab system, featuring a split/splitless injector with septum purge.

Airgas introduced a line of low-cost, lightweight analytical specialty gas regulators designed especially for GC.
