GE Healthcare to Distribute Through Fisher
Regarding the new agreement, Mr. Roman told IBO: “GE Healthcare Life Sciences has continued to evaluate ways to meet the buying needs of our customers and with the success we have seen from our VWR relationship, coupled with the excellent collaboration that existed previously between Whatman and Fisher, it was a natural extension to our already existing strategy.” GE Healthcare Life Sciences utilizes over 100 distributors in North America, the majority of which are focused on the Whatman product lines (see IBO 2/15/08).
Piscataway, NJ 1/29/09—GE Healthcare announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Fisher Scientific, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Fisher Scientific will distribute a range of GE Healthcare Life Sciences products in North America, including film, electrophoresis, chromatography and nucleic acid purification products. “The presence Fisher Scientific has in the academic, pharmaceutical and biotech industries will enable customers to have increased access to our products through the purchasing channel of their choice,” stated Eric Roman, general manager of GE Healthcare Life Sciences Americas. “In many cases, the convenience Fisher Scientific adds through logistics and access to products via their storeroom programs will make the procurement process more efficient for many customers.”
