Hach Enters LIMS Market
Consulting firm New Resources Consulting acquired OPS Systems in 2007. Hach purchased WaterEye from Open Energy (now Applied Solar) in December 2008. According to an SEC filing, Open Energy received gross cash proceeds of $335,000 from the sale.
Loveland, CO 2/10/09—Hach announced that it has acquired OPS Systems and the assets of WaterEye. Based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, OPS provides water-related reporting and analysis, preventive maintenance and LIMS (laboratory information management solutions) software solutions for water, wastewater and industrial plant operations. WaterEye provides web-based information management solutions. As a result of the acquisitions, Hach has introduced several new Hach Water Information Management Solutions (WIMS): the Hach WIMS and Hach WIMS OnDemand systems; Hach JobCal, a computerized maintenance management system; and the Hach Aspen LIMS. “Utilities are faced with increasingly complex regulations, escalating costs, aging infrastructures, a changing workforce, and security concerns. Effective and sustainable water information management solutions are imperative to face these challenges,” stated Hach President Jon Clark.
