IDEX Acquires Particle Control Company

Quadro Engineering’s products include the Comil conical mill and Quadro Ytron mixing and emulsifying equipment. Through the acquisition, IDEX will be able to more directly benefit from the increase in biopharmaceutical production.

Northbrook, IL 6/12/07—IDEX has acquired Quadro Engineering, a provider of particle control solutions for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries for $31 million in cash. Quadro Engineering specializes in products for fine milling, emulsification and special handling of liquid and solid particulates for lab, pilot phase and production scale processing. Based in Ontario, Canada, the company has annual revenues of around $22 million. “Quadro’s capabilities expand IDEX’s ability to provide customized solutions for the movement, transformation, measurement and dispense of high value fluids and, now, solids,” stated IDEX Chairman and CEO Larry Kingsley. Quadro Engineering will join IDEX’s Fluid & Metering Technologies segment.
