Company Announcements
Accelrys announced in May that as part of a restructuring of the former Symyx Content business, several legacy products will be retired, including all reaction databases and the DiscoveryGate Classic platform. The company forecasts 2011 non-GAAP revenues of $152–$155 million.
In May, Accelrys announced the retirement of Steven D. Goldby from its Board this year.
LabVantage Solutions entered into an alliance with expressor software for data integration solutions.
Promium entered into a partnership with WaterTrax to ensure interoperability.
In June, IDBS and ChemAxon extended their strategic relationship, allowing IDBS to offer new features such as parallel-synthesis capability and reaction enumeration.
IDBS is leading a consortium to create an informatics platform to support stratified and translational medicine research and cross-organizational collaboration. The UK Technology Strategy Board–funded consortium also includes Quantix, Kings Health Partners and Manchester Academic Health Science Center.
In July, IDBS established the US headquarters of its Healthcare business at its Burlington, Massachusetts, office and added 22 employees on the East Coast.
Product Introductions
In May, GenoLogics released the Rapid Scripting Application Programming Interface for its LIMS 2011. A preconfigured version of LIMS 2011 for Illumina next-generation sequencers and TruSeq Kits was also released.
Accelrys introduced the Enterprise Lab Management (ELM) Suite, which provides the core set of capabilities needed to support fundamental lab workflows. Applications include the Symyx Notebook by Accelrys, the Accelrys Laboratory Execution and Analysis software, and Accelrys Pipeline Pilot.
Accelrys released the Experiment Knowledge Base, a new packaged professional services solution built on the ELM suite of the Accelrys Enterprise R&D Architecture.
In June, Integromics introduced the OmicsHub Proteomics 2.0 centralized data-management platform for MS labs, featuring a pathway viewer.
IDBS launched The Biomolecular Hub, a data management solution for Omics data and analysis results. It indexes metadata and all types of molecular output files.
In June, Knome released the kGAP 2.0 genome interpretation engine for whole-genome association studies, featuring the initial capability to simultaneously processing more than 300 genomes using cloud computing.
Simulations Plus launched DDDPlus 4.0 for simulating in vivo dissolution experiments. It features expanded parameter sensitivity analysis and virtual trials capability.
Gene Codes released Sequencher 5.0 for next-generation sequence analysis, featuring new DNA sequence data-alignment algorithms.
