Definiens released Image Miner 2, which integrates data mining with image analysis.

PerkinElmer launched in June OneSource Scientific IT Services, a suite of informatics-based consulting, planning and management offerings designed to help maximize the productivity of information technology in lab environments. It consists of Lab Computing Services, Computer Systems Validations, Scientific Applications Services, and Scientific Data Services.

In July, PerkinElmer released the new Ensemble for QA/QC Informatics Platform, featuring the iLAB Laboratory Execution System as well as LIMS systems.

PerkinElmer introduced Asset Genius, an informatics-based business intelligence solution to reduce lab downtime, improve asset usage and extend instrument longevity.

PerkinElmer integrated in August its electronic lab notebook with Elsevier’s Reaxys chemistry workflow solution.

In August, PerkinElmer released the ChemBioOffice Informatics Suite 13.0, featuring an improved biopolymer toolbar and a sharable cloud location.

SAS released in June JMP Genomics 6, featuring new algorithms for rare variant analysis.

In September, Golden Helix launched the free GenomeBrowse genomic visualization and annotation platform for DNA and RNA sequence data.

MediSapiens introduced in September the OncoGenomics Explorer, an integrated and unified cloud computing application that integrates multidimensional genomics data from a single sample and allows complex genomic data searches using plain-text search phrases.
