In June, LabVantage Solutions extended its partnership with Lonza to offer purpose-built environmental monitoring capabilities integrated with LIMS. LabVantage 8’s MODA Connector is an off-the-shelf interface to Lonza’s MODA-EM solution for QC microbiology.
Siemens Venture Capital announced an investment in Riffyn, a cloud-based research process design software. This brings the total investment in Riffyn to $4.6 million.
In August, BioAscent Discovery made available Selcia’s compound fragment library through its Compound Cloud service.
In August, RURO opened a European office in Perugia, Italy.
Optibrium and The Edge Software Consultancy announced in September a collaboration to provide an integrated solution linking their respective StarDrop and BioRails platforms for drug discovery.
Simulations Plus joined the SimInhale COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Action, a consortium with 100 members. SimInhale will establish a roadmap a realistic computer simulations that will provide quantitative data to designers of aerosolized medicines and inhalation devices.
In October, LabAnswer announced a collaboration with Google Cloud Platform, marking LabAnswer’s entry into cloud computing. It is initially targeting life sciences.
Product Introductions
Simulations Plus launched Version 8.0 of its ADMET Predictor molecular property prediction software. New features include automatic “star plots” depicting various key molecule properties and expanded graphics.
Simulations Plus also released in August PKPlus 1.0 for preclinical and clinical trial data, expanding the PKPlus Module that was part of the GastroPlus software. It emphasizes ease of use and features a new relational database.
In August, Certara released Phoenix 7.0 software for PK, PD and TK modeling and simulation. New features include a graphics engine and integrated parallel computing technology. Phoenix is used by six thousand researchers, according to Certara.
In August, Autoscribe Informatics released the Environmental Sampling Management module for its Matrix Gemini LIMS.
Advanced Chemistry Development announced in August the integration of ACD/ChemSketch with the US EPA’s Interactive Chemical Safety for Sustainability Chemistry Dashboard.
In August, PerkinElmer introduced version 16 of its ChemDraw software for chemical structure drawing. New features include the ability of web-based application users to access their structures from any location, and to share and revise their documents in the cloud. It also offers access to PerkinElmer’s E-Notebook software.
In September, Dotmatics introduced Version 5.0 of its enterprise software for scientific information management. Major enhancements include user-interface enhancements, new collaboration support and an SDMS capability.
Genedata introduced in October version 14 of Genedata Screener, an in vitro screening platform. It features greater automation and guided workflow support, such a new level of early-state compound qualification for improved decision-making in discovery projects.
