IO Informatics appointed Robert Stanley, cofounder and CTO, president and CEO in April. VelQuest integrated its GMP Electronic Notebook System, designed for QA/QC applications, with Symyx Technologies’ electronic lab notebook applications, which are designed for R&D. Thermo Fisher Scientific granted Sage-N Research a sublicense to sell the SEQUEST search engine products. Agilent integrated EMC’s NetWorker and DiskXtender information management and protection software with its OL operating system for integrated data archival. In May, Accelrys, CMR Fuel Cells and Johnson Matthey formed a UK-based Research Consortium for alternative energy research. Imaging software developer OPTRA Systems named Dan Calvo, former CEO of Cellomics, chairman in May. IDBS partnered with a-tune Software AG to improve the reach of IDBS Professional Services in Germany, Austria and German-speaking areas of Switzerland. BioWisdom joined Elsevier MDL’s Isentris Alliance and integrated its Healthcare Intelligence platform with MDL’s Isentris discovery informatics system. Aureus Pharma joined Elsevier MDL’s Isentris Alliance as a preferred partner, allowing access to its content via Isentris. In May, Labtronics announced that Applied Biosystems will distribute its Nexxis qELN electronic lab notebook for QA/QC labs. SGI joined the BioIT Alliance. Thermo Fisher Scientific partnered with Megaware to deliver a unified bioanalysis/equivalence solution and joint support services for pharmaceutical research.
