Tokyo, Japan 9/25/07—Japan’s Nikkei News reports that Toshiba, Canon, Toray Industries, Yokogawa Electric and seven other Japanese firms, supported by the Kazusa DNA Research Institute, will form a consortium to develop microarrays for applications in diagnostic medicine, food and environmental analysis. According to Nikkei, the Japanese microarray market will total ¥100 billion ($869.2 million) by about 2015.
