Tecan elected Heinrich Fischer, former CEO of the Saurer Group, and Jürg Meier, former head of the Novartis Venture Fund, to its board, replacing Heino von Prondzynski, who resigned, and Timothy Anderson. The April election defeated candidates and motions put forward by BB Medtech, the company’s largest shareholder.
NanoString Technologies is developing with Applied Precision a fluorescent imager to be distributed with its nCounter System for gene expression.
TTP LabTech appointed AsOne, Wipro Biomed and Millennium Science as distributors for Japan, India, and Australia and New Zealand, respectively.
Robotic Technology Systems Life Sciences’ 2006 revenues fell 13.7% to £10.1 million ($18.7 million) and it posted a loss before exceptional items of £0.4 million ($0.7 million) (see IBO 4/15/07). The business was reorganized into four units: Sample Management, Platform Solutions, Drug Delivery Automation and a unit for customer support.
