Bruker Daltonics and the Mass Spectrometry Research Laboratory of Professor Catherine Costello at the Boston University School of Medicine are collaborating on the application of ion trap MS and FT-MS to glycomics and proteomics applications, including the development of new methods for the structural analysis of carbohydrates, such as “reverse” electron transfer dissociation.
Syft Technologies reported fiscal 2009 sales ended March 31 rose 42.3% to AUD 3.7 million ($2.2 million), short of expectations. Operating loss increased from AUD 3.6 million ($2.7 million) to AUD 4.9 million ($2.9 million) (see IBO 10/15/09).
Advion Biosystems and Waters announced the compatibility of their respective TriVersa NanoMate chip-based nanoelectrospray ionization system and MS systems.
Northrop Grumman and Syagen Technology signed a multiyear product development and license agreement to further develop MS for mobile military operations.
Percorso Life Sciences will commercialize Phoenix S&T’s AutoNanosystem nanospray and microspray MS devices in North America.
Agilent and the Institute for Systems Biology will create the Human Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM) Atlas, designed to enable the quantitative assessment of proteins in human tissues, cell lines and blood. They will produce a database of up to four peptides per human protein coding gene with verified MRM-based MS assays.
