LGC Standards Expands US Business
Based in Vermont and founded in 1981, VHG specializes in standards for atomic spectroscopy and metals analysis. In March, LGC Standards purchased US-based Analytical Reference Materials International, a supplier of industrial reference materials and proficiency testing services. Part of lab services firm LGC, LGC Standards offers more than 100,000 products.
London, UK 5/9/12—LGC Standards has acquired VHG Labs, a US-based supplier of spectrochemical standards, lab instrument consumables and product-testing services, for an undisclosed amount. “For LGC Standards, this latest acquisition builds on our strategy to increase our footprint in the US market,” said LGC Standards Managing Director David Richardson. “Importantly, it is also a good fit with our industrial reference materials operations and will help strengthen our ability to meet the growing demand for industrial reference materials from around the world.” VHG President Sue Evans Norris and Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mike Travers will join LGC Standards.
