The Economic Times reported in August that Merck KGaA closed down Bangalore, India–based GeNei, a provider of biological research products, and stopped sales of its products. GeNei had 39 full-time employees.

Horizon Discovery announced a license and supply agreement under which Abcam will have exclusive access to over 1,800 human diploid and haploid cell line models, which will aid in the functional validation of Abcam’s antibodies. Horizon will also develop additional haploid cell lines to validate new antibodies. Horizon will receive £660,000 ($1.0 million) in exclusivity payments for an initial three-year term and an additional £1,950,000 ($3 million) for years four through six if Abcam extends the exclusivity period. Horizon will also receive royalties.

Mirus Bio introduced the new CHOgro Expression System for achieving high titers in suspension CHO cells.
AMSBIO introduced the PATHM2 small molecules libraries for small-scale screening.
In September, Cellular Dynamics announced the launch of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine’s hPSC Repository, with the availability of the first 300 iPSC lines, which Cellular Dynamics created. The number of cell lines is expected to total 750 by February 2016.
SGI-DNA introduced the Gibson Assembly Site-Directed Mutagenesis Kit, the third kit in its Gibson Assembly portfolio. Only 5 ng of DNA starting material is required.
ESI BIO launched the VascuNet Pericyte Co-Culture Assay for stable, physiologically accurate in vivo modeling of blood vessel formation.
