Advanced Cell Diagnostics and PerkinElmer entered into a comarketing agreement for their respective RNAscope multiplexed fluorescence assays and multispectral imaging technologies.

Affymetrix promoted Gavin Wood to executive vice president and CFO in May. Most recently, he served as vice president, Finance, International Controller.

PathoGenetix and Applied Maths agreed in June to integrate their respective RESOLUTION Microbial Genotyping System and BioNumerics software suite to enable comparison to data from other strain typing systems.

In a June SEC filing, Singulex disclosed it raised $12.2 million as part of a $20 million equity offering.

BioNano Genomics and the New York Genome Center entered into a strategic collaboration in June.

In July, Gyros announced a partnership with EMD Millipore, which will develop, manufacture and commercialize immunoassay kits for its Gyrolab platform.

Product Introductions

CEM introduced in June the Liberty Blue line of research-scale microwave peptide synthesizers, which can produce 0.025–5 mmol of peptides and consists of manual, automated and high-throughput systems, and the Liberty XL mid-scale synthesizer, which scales to 100 mmol.

Plexera released the Lectin Array Chip for glycoprofiling and biomarker discovery for use with its Surface Plasmon Resonance Imaging instruments.

In July, Meso Scale Discovery launched the affordable QuickPlex SQ 120 system for electrochemiluminescence immunoassays, featuring a new single-well read mode.

Bio-Rad Laboratories released the Biologics Analysis Workflow for purity assessment of protein-based therapeutics. New products include the GS-900 densitometer, QC Colloidal Coomassie stain and Image Lab 5.0 software.

In July, OpGen opened a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory services lab for the surveillance and identification of healthcare-associated infections and human pathogens.

ProteinSimple introduced the FluorChem R system, a fully integrated multimode gel and Western blot imager with chemiluminescent, fluorescent and IR detection capabilities.

Sales/Orders of Note

In July, Luminex announced the shipment of its 10,000th multiplexing instrument with the shipment of a MAGPIX system to Rhode Island Hospital.
