Frank Witney, president and CEO of Dionex, resigned from Transgenomic’s Board in May.
Proteome Sciences licensed Axela’s dotLab System to develop assays to measure its brain damage biomarkers. Axela obtained an option to license the assays for research and diagnostic use.
In June, Luminex established an office in Shanghai, China.
Luminex named Michael F. Pintek senior vice president, Operations. Previously, he was vice president and general manager, Blood Screening, at Roche Molecular Systems.
In July, Luminex named Tim Dehne vice president, Systems and Research and Development. Most recently, he was senior vice president, Research and Development, at National Instruments.
Biospace Lab named two exclusive distributors: LabChina for China and LabChina Taiwan for Taiwan.
Fluidigm appointed Uniscience do Brasil as the exclusive Brazilian distributor for its BioMark System for Genetic Analysis.
In June, NanoString Technologies closed $30 million in Series C equity financing, led by Clarus Ventures.
The Gulf Times reported in June that deltaDOT launched a joint venture with the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). DeltaDOT will establish a research and testing facility at QSTP that will open later this year. QSTP will contribute $15 million and deltaDOT will offer staff, support and an exclusive technology license for the region.
Gyros AB raised SEK 80 million ($10 million) in equity financing in June. SLS Invest led the round.

454 Life Sciences introduced the GS FLX Titanium Series Library Paired End Adaptors, consisting of 3 Kb, 8 Kb and 20 Kb span paired end libraries and improved assembler software for improved de novo sequencing.
Applied Biosystems launched two new series of capillary electrophoresis (CE) sequencing systems: the 3500 Series for research and the 3500 Dx Series for clinical use. The Dx was initially launched in specific EU countries.
ForteBio released assay modules for protein quantitation and for fragment screening for its Octet platform.
ForteBio introduced the Octet RED384 for protein, peptide, small molecule and fragment screening; and the Octet QK384 for protein and antibody assays.
Fluidigm launched the TOPAZ 1.96 Diffraction Capable chip for diffraction-based screening. The chip can be placed directly in the path of an X-ray beam.
Berthold Technologies released the NightSHADE imaging system for plant research.
Dolomite released the glass Mitos CE Chip A.
