Life Technologies Expands in South Korea
The LSK name will become part of Life Technologies Korea. LSK serves academic, government, pharmaceutical, biotech, hospital and applied customers. This is Life’s second Korean acquisition this year, following the purchase of a reagent distributor (see IBO 4/15/13).
Carlsbad, CA 6/13/13—Life Technologies has acquired instrument distributor Life Science Korea (LSK) for an undisclosed amount. LSK has served as Life’s primary instrument distribution in South Korea since 1994 and holds distribution rights to Applied Biosystems products. “The acquisition of LSK is in line with our go-direct strategy in South Korea and builds on our current capabilities and platforms in this important market,” commented Mark Smedley, president, Asia Pacific Japan region at Life. Based in Seoul, LSK serves over 1,000 customers.
