In August, BIA Separations announced a cooperation agreement with the Centre for Bio Separations Technology at India’s VIT University.
Product Introductions
Advion introduced in June the affordable and easy-to-use Chip-Mate ESI chip based on a nano-LC ion source. The company also released a fit-for-purpose smaller array ESI Chip with 25 emitter nozzles.
Knauer launched the Contichrom lab, a preparative two-column LC system for discovery, process development and scale up.
DataApex released in June the new Clarity 4.0 chromatography data system, featuring a Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis extension, new control modules, and Spanish and German versions.
VICAM, a Waters business, introduced in July the DON-NIV WB Immunoaffinity column for the analysis of mycotoxins. It simultaneously screens for deoxynivalenol and nivalenol.
Agilent launched in July CrossLab HPLC supplies and services for non-Agilent instruments. The portfolio includes detector lamps, valve and pump supplies, capillaries and fittings, and more.
In July, YMC introduced the LC-Forte/R preparative HPLC system for high- and low-pressure HPLC. The maximum flow rate is 50 mL/min at 4,350 psi.
YMC released the YMC-Triart Diol-HILIC column, available in particle sizes of 1.9 µm, 3 µm and 5 µm.
In July, Sigma-Aldrich’s Supelco brand introduced the Ascentis Express 5 µm particle size column based on Fused-Core particle technology, which it claims delivers the speed and resolving power of conventional 3 µm particle columns. The introductory phases are C18 and F5.
Hitachi High-Technologies launched the affordable and robust Primaide HPLC small and mid-scale facilities for a range of applications.
In August, Chiral Technologies introduced two new immobilized chiral stationary phases, CHIRALPAK ZWIX(+) and CHIRALPAK ZWIX(-), in 3 µm particles.
GE Healthcare released Ni Sepharose excel, an immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography medium for the direct capture and purification of secreted histidine-tagged recombinant proteins from eukaryotic cell culture supernatants. The resin is also available as His Mag Sepharose excel.
GE Healthcare launched in August the modular, easy-to-use ÄKTA pure HPLC system for protein purification, featuring a drag-and-drop method template in the UNICORN 6 control software.
In September, Phenomenex released the Lux Cellulose-1 and -2 chiral stationary phases in a 10 µm particle size.
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced in September the Thermo Scientific Accucore XL HPLC columns.
