In September, ChromaCon entered into a licensing and technical collaboration agreement with LEWA, granting LEWA license rights to its intellectual property for twin-column–bed chromatography.
Microsaic Systems signed an OEM agreement with Gilson. Shipments are expected to start in the first quarter of 2015, with volumes increasing to 50 per year.
Product Introductions
W. R. Grace & Co. introduced in July the REVELERIS Prep purification system for flash and preparative LC.
In August, Advion launched an LC system for use with its line of expression compact MS systems.
Thermo Fisher Scientific released the Thermo Scientific MAbPac HIC-10 HPLC column for additional selectivity.
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced in October the POROS XQ Chromatography Resin, a salt-tolerant strong-anion–exchange resin.
Shimadzu introduced in August the Nexera-e 2-D LC system, which incorporates the Nexera X2 PDA detector with sampling rates up to 200 Hz.
In September, Phenomenex added a 5 µm particle size to its family of Aeris PEPTIDE core-shell columns, which are now scalable to over four particle sizes.
Phenomenex released the Kinetex EVO C18 core-shell columns for alkaline pH ruggedness.
Agilent Technologies introduced the 1290 Infinity II LC System for pressure to 1,200 bar and flow rates up to 5 mL/min. It includes eight new modules.
GE Healthcare Life Sciences released the Capto S ImpAct cation-exchanger medium for the intermediate and polishing steps when purifying biomolecules.
Sigma-Aldrich Supelco introduced the Ascentis Express 2.0 µm–particle UHPLC column, which delivers 300,000 plates-per-meter efficiency, and is available in 11 dimensions and two introductory phases, C18 and F5.
In October, Waters launched the ACQUITY UPC2 Trefoil Columns, 2.5 µm–particle columns for chiral separations, available in three chemistries, and the ACQUITY UPC2 Torus Columns for achiral separations, featuring 1.7 µm–particle technology, available in four chemistries.
Waters released the XBridge Protein BEH SEC, a size-exclusion–chromatography column packed with 3.5 µm particles, available in either 200 Å or 450 Å pore sizes.
Restek introduced Raptor SPP 5 µm–particle core-shell columns.
Restek released the Rapture C18 SPP core-shell column.
Merck Millipore introduced three new resins for its Chromabolt prepacked columns: Fractogel EMD SE Hicap, Fractogel EMO COO(M) and Eschmuno Q.
Tosoh Bioscience released in the Americas CaPure-HA resin for the purification of biological molecules.
