Product Introductions
Thermo Fisher Scientific launched the Thermo Scientific Pierce High Capacity Endotoxin Removal Resin for the cleanup of protein that is injected or transfected into cells or animals. It combines porous cellulose beads and poly (e-lysine) as an affinity ligand.
GE Healthcare introduced TALON Superflow chromatography media products in prepacked formats for the high-purity separation of histidine-tagged proteins: HiTrap TALON crude, His SpinTrap TALON microspin, His MultiTrap TALON and His GraviTrap TALON.
Repligen released larger-scale, prepacked, single-use OPUS (Open Platform User Specified) chromatography columns for the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals.
In March, Agilent introduced the 1260 Infinity Hybrid supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC)/UHPLC system, which performs both SFC and UHPLC and provides 600 bar capability. The SFC module can be purchased as an upgrade to existing 1100, 1200 and 1260 LC systems.
Agilent released the 1200 Infinity Series diode array detector, which extends the upper linearity level from two to typically six absorbance units, allowing the injection of three times more sample. Max-Light flow cells enable wider linear dynamic range.
In March, Sigma-Aldrich Supelco released three new HILIC (hydrophilic interaction LC) phases for its Ascentis Express Fused-Core HPLC column line: Ascentis Express F5 (pentafluorophenylpropyl), Ascentis Express ES-CN (cyano) and Ascentis Express OH5 (pentol).
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments announced in March that the Nexera MP UHPLC system is now available with the SIL-30ACMP Autosampler, which features the optional CTO-30AS column oven. The SIL-30ACMP Autosampler has a cycle time of 14 seconds and holds up to six plates.
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Thermo Scientific Acclaim Surfactant Plus columns and the smaller-particle sized MAbPac SCX-10 columns, available in 3 µm and 5 µm particles sizes.
Thermo Fisher Scientific released three 4 µm particle-size capillary ion chromatography columns for use with the ICS-4000 and ICS-5000 systems (see IBO 3/31/12): the Dionex IonPac AS18-4 µm column, offered in a 150 mm format, and the Dionex IonPac AS11-HC-4 µm and Dionex CS 19-4 µm columns, offered in 250 mm formats.
In March, GE Healthcare and BAC launched LambdaFabSelect resin for GMP-regulated purification of antibodies and antibody fragments with a lambda light chain.
