Spectrum Chemicals & Laboratory Products announced a partnership with SGE Analytical Science in fall 2010 to distribute SGE’s ProteCol HPLC columns.

BioSystem Development announced in November 2010 a collaboration with BAC BV to develop high-affinity ligands for its AssayMAP platform. BAC will contribute its CaptureSelect Antibody Toolbox affinity ligands.

Semba Biosciences partnered with Orochem Technologies to develop simulated moving bed-based equipment for automated purification for drug manufacturing.

Agilent announced in January that it was awarded a US patent for the process used to apply the superficially porous shell to particles in its Poroshell 120 HPLC columns.

GE Healthcare introduced HiScale columns, which are optimized for process development and preparative chromatography and stable up to 20 b.

GE Healthcare released four new columns in its Hi­Screen prepacked column range: Ni Sepharose 6 Fast Flow, Blue Sepharose 6 Fast Flow, DEAE Sepharose Fast Flow and Butyl Sepharose High Performance.

Spectra Analysis launched the DiscovIR-LC FTIR detection technology for solid phase analysis of HPLC and size exclusion chromatography separations.

Phenomenex introduced two new phases for its Kinetex core-shell HPLC/UHPLC column family: Kinetex XB-C18 and Kinetex C8.

In the Americas, Tosoh Bioscience released the TSK-GEL SuperMultiporePW gel permeation chromatography (GPC) series of three semi-micro columns for the analysis of water-soluble polymers, as well as the TSKgel SuperOligoPW GPC column and TSKgel NH2-100 DC column.

In November 2010, Agilent introduced the Agilent OpenLAB chromatography data system (CDS). Designed on the OpenLAB Shared Services architecture, it is backward compatible with ChemStation and EZChrom Elite workflows. It features central administration, remote viewing and optimized reporting.

Dionex released the MAbPac-SCX-10 column, designed for the analysis and characterization of monoclonal antibody variants.

Dionex introduced the next-generation ProPac-SCX-20 column for the characterization of protein variants.

Waters introduced the scalable, enterprise-wide Empower 3 CDS, featuring improved navigation between the review and reporting applications and the ability to create sample sets post acquisition.

CDS provider DataApex announced in September 2010 that it shipped its 12,000th chromatography station.
