Product Introductions

Shimadzu added LabSolutions Direct to its LabSolutions LC/GC workstation for direct access from a smart device to an HPLC.

In September, Natrix Separations released the NatriFlo HD-Q Flow-Through Membrane Adsorber product family, featuring a 3D macroporous hydrogel structure, for scalable polishing from R&D to cGMP manufacturing.

EMD Millipore introduced Eshmuno A Protein A affinity chromatography media for the purification of monoclonal antibodies and other Fc containing particles. It also released Chromabolt prepacked, prevalidated chromatography columns for early clinical-stage manufacturing, available in 10 cm, 20 cm and 32 cm ID columns.

GE Healthcare Life Sciences launched in September the compact, affordable ÄKTA start LC system for protein purification. According to The Week, it is GE Healthcare Life Sciences’ first India-designed product.

GE Healthcare Life Sciences released in October the ÄKTA ready LC system, which adds gradient capabilities, for process scale-up and manufacturing.

Phenomenex released the 30 mm and 21.2 mm ID Kinetex core-shell 5 µm columns in Axia hardware for preparative HPLC and supercritical fluid chromatography in pharmaceutical lab-scale purification. Kinetex is the only core-shell media line that can be used from analytical scale through scale-up to purification, according to the firm.

In October, Restek launched the Raptor LC core-shell columns, which it initially released in Biphenyl phase.

Healex Systems’ ChemLaunch remote instrument access and control software now operates with Agilent Technologies’ OpenLAB CDS ChemStation Edition.

Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Thermo Scientific Isohumulones in Beer Application Kit, featuring the Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 UHPLC.

Tosoh Bioscience launched in the Americas the TOYOPEARL AF-r Protein A HC-650F resin for the purification of monoclonal antibodies. It is also available in ToyoScreen mini-size columns for screening and evaluation.

In November, Chiral Technologies released i-CHIRAL 4, a set of four Daicel 3 µm immobilized chiral stationary phases packed in 4.6 mm and 150 mm ID columns.

Sigma-Aldrich launched Titan UHPLC columns. Based on 1.9 µm porous, monodisperse silica particles, they have efficiency of > 250,000 N/m. List prices start at $300. The cost efficient Ecoporous silica manufacturing process is the result of a collaboration with Glantreo.
