Puridify, maker of the single-use FibroSelect purification technology, closed a £2.2 million ($3.4 million ) Series A funding round in October 2015, bringing the total raised, including grant funding, to £8 million ($12 million).
Following a November 2015 agreement, ACCHROM Instrument Technologies will market an OEM version of DataApex’s Clarity Chromatography Software under the name ACstation Chromatography Software.
Repligen announced on its third quarter 2015 conference call that, as part of a strategic review, it has decided not to commercialize its Protein A resin products. The company will focus on its OPUS column and Alternative Tangential Flow system businesses.
Pall announced in January a supply agreement with Kaneka for the KANEKA KanCapA Protein A chromatography sorbent for the primary capture of monoclonal antibodies from clarified cell culture. Pall plans to introduce a single-use product line including AWS (Acoustic Wave Separation) products and BioSMB (Simulating Moving Bed) technologies for bench scale and GMP scale.
Chiral Technologies, a Daicel company, announced an exclusive sales agreement for the US and Europe with Strem Chemicals for Daicel’s chiral reagents. Daicel’s chiral reagents will include chiral ligands, chiral auxiliaries and chiral starting materials.
Product Introductions
Phenomenex introduced in October 2015 the Yarra 1.8 µm SEC-X150 gel filtration/aqueous size exclusion column for the separation of biomolecules on HPLC and UHPLC systems. It allows for improved recovery and more accurate quantification of biomolecules, and is priced lower than other sub-2µm SEC columns.
Biotage launched the Isolera Assist, an intelligent user experience for its flash purification systems.
Knauer released in November 2015 the AZURA DAD 2.1L diode array detector and the ZURA MWD 1.1L eight-channel multiwavelength detector.
SCIEX launched the M3 MicroLC System for working with small-volume samples in biopharmaceutical applications. It can run up to 200 samples per day on a continuous basis. It features a microflow trap-and-elute capability option for analyzing anlyatical-scale sample volumes.
Antec introduced the DECADE Elite electrochemical detector for HPLC and UHPLC. It can control up to four cells for high-throughput applications or electrochemical pre-reduction.
In December 2015, GE Healthcare Life Sciences added the cation exchange Capto S ImpAct chromatography medium, and multimodal Capto MMC ImpRes and Capto adhere ImpRes media to its ReadyToProcess line of prepacking bioprocessing columns.
In February, Waters introduced the CORTECS C8 and Phenyl analytical columns in 1.6 µm and 2.7 µm particle sizes and 50 unique column configurations.
