Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany 1/7/13; Llantrisant, UK 1/20/13— Schauenburg International Group, a technology business, has acquired a majority stake in Markes International for an undisclosed amount. Markes management are co-owners. Markes is a provider of thermal desorption technology, and its ALMSCO division supplies TOF-MS systems. All employees and management will remain with the company. “Markes will form a substantial part and a new technology segment within our Electronic Division with great potential and synergies,” said Florian G. Schauenburg, CEO of Schauenburg. “It will support and complement our efforts as technology and system supplier to the environmental monitoring market.” Schauenburg International stated that the acquisition marked its entrance into the analytical instrument market.
