SII NanoTechnology (now Hitachi High-Technologies) introduced the DMS7100 Dynamic Mechanical Spectrometer, featuring easy and secure sample mounting and removal, new software and a Lissajous monitor.

In November, SII NanoTechnology (now Hitachi High-Technologies) released the Thermo Analyzer gTG/DTA7220h simultaneous thermogravimetry/differential thermal analyzer system that supports the option to observe by CCD camera the sample changes as they occur.

Newage Testing Instruments introduced the Newage MT91 Automatic Microhardness Traverse Testing System, which measures hardness based on depth of penetration rather than using an optical system.

LUM launched the multi-wavelength LUMiSizer 65x, offering wavelengths of 470 nm or 865 nm, for measuring hydrodynamic particle density, separation velocity distribution and particle size dispersion.

PerkinElmer introduced the Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer 8000, enabling thermal analysis up to 1600° C.

Malvern Instruments released a robotic solution for cement analysis on the Mastersizer 3000 particle size analyzer.

RheoSense launched the microVISC TC (temperature controlled) viscometer with a temperature range of about 15–50° C.
