Company Announcements

In February, DKSH expanded its marketing partnership with Malvern Instruments, adding the MicroCal and NanoSight product ranges in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

In March, DKSH signed an exclusive distribution agreement for C-Therm’s Thermal Conductivity Analyzer and Dilatometer product line in Australia and New Zealand.

In May, Biolin Scientific announced an agreement with DKSM to market its force and optical tensiometers in China.

In April, Judges Scientific acquired Dia-Stron, a designer and manufacturer of systems to test the mechanical properties of fibers, for £2.75 million ($3.93 million) in cash.

 

Product Introductions

Thermo Fisher Scientific launched an air bearing option for its Viscotester iQ rheometer, which can now measure samples with viscosities 20 times smaller than the standard system.

In May, Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Thermo Scientific Pharma 16 Twin-Screw Extruder for simple switching between hot melt extrusion and continuous granulation operation.

In April, Instron launched the HV Series of heat deflection temperature and Vicat softening temperature testing systems, consisting of the manually operated HV3S with two testing stations, and the HV6M and HV6X with up to six testing stations.

Spectro Scientific introduced the MiniLab 153 oil analysis system for on-site lubricant analysis. It includes an elemental analyzer for the detection of contaminants, additives and wear metals.

Hinds Instruments launched the compact PolSNAP Stokes Polarimeter with a dynamic range of over six orders of magnitude.

Buehler, an Illinois Tool Works company, launched the Wilson VH1102 and VH1202 for Knoop and Vickers micro-hardness testing in QC and R&D applications.

Anton Paar released the plug-and-play, cost effective MCR 72 and MCR 92 rheometers. The MCR 72 is equipped with a ball bearing motor. The MCR 92 has an air bearing motor.

In May, Anton Paar launched the new Modulyzer for Flavor and Fragrances, which combines its DMA Generation M density meter with its Abbemat refractometer and MCP polarimeter.

In June, Surface Measurement Systems introduced the DVS Adventure water vapor sorption analyzer for measuring sorption and desorption isotherms over a broad range of humidities and temperatures.

In June, Bibby Scientific announced that Stuart launched the SMP50 automatic melting point system with digital video technology. The melting point of up to three samples can be determined simultaneously.
