Materials Characterization: Company Announcements

Under a comarketing agreement, Sigma-Aldrich Research Specialties is selling Hy-Energy’s PCTPro-2000 gas sorption analyzer and related materials, and Hy-Energy is selling Sigma-Aldrich’s hydrogen storage materials.

Horiba plans to expand its share of the Japanese particle size analysis market from 30% to 50% by 2010 and nearly double its share of the global market to 30% by 2010.

In September, Zwick Roell established an Aerospace Competence Center.

Zwick Roell formed a Technical Application Group that will assist in developing new and customized solutions.

MTS Systems established a new 13,000 square foot headquarters, a fully foreign-owned enterprise, in Shanghai, China, in September.

Malvern Instruments relocated its US headquarters to Westborough, Massachusetts, in October. Earlier this year, the company’s Analytical Imaging Group relocated to Columbia, Maryland, and established a center of excellence for chemical and morphological imaging.

In November, Horiba Instruments agreed to exclusively distribute Clemex Technologies’ Clemex PS3 particle size and shape analysis instrument in the Americas.
