Materials Characterization: Product Introductions
RheoSense launched a viscometer/rheometer-on-a-chip for liquid characterization. Tinius Olsen introduced a new U Series of high-force electromechanical materials testing machines. Mettler-Toledo released the new Thermal Analysis Excellence product line consisting of the thermogravimetric analyzer/differential scanning calorimeter (TGA/DSC 1), the new DSC 1 and updated STARe thermal analysis software. Mettler-Toledo introduced the Quick-Brix 60 and 90 portable refractometers. Horiba introduced the LA-950V2 particle size analyzer, featuring four custom pretreatment specifications and eight pretreatment accessories, for the analysis of particles ranging in size from 10 nm to 3 mm. Anton Paar GmbH launched the high-throughput version of its MCR 301 rheometer, which performs all measuring steps automatically and can process 96 samples in a single run. Wyatt Technology launched the Calypso automated protein association and aggregation system, which is based on composition-gradient multiangle light scattering. Malvern Instrument introduced the Morphologi G3 particle characterization system, featuring an automated sample dispersion device. Thermo Fisher Scientific launched the HAAKE PolyLab QC, featuring a modular torque rheometer that can be connected to an interchangeable mixer, single-screw extruder or conical twin-screw extruder.
