Microarrays: Company Announcements

Biotools B&M Labs SA released CapitalBio’s microarray platform to the Spanish market and provided CapitalBio with its LIONPROBES real-time amplification technology, the Gelification stabilization platform and recombinant enzymes for kits and reagents for the Chinese market. Oxford Gene Technology and Integrated Genomics partnered to develop and market a Pichia pastoris gene expression oligonucleotide microarray. In March, Empire Genomics, a provider of molecular karyotyping technology, and software firm BioDiscovery partnered to comarket and codevelop products. Dr. Leroy Hood joined NimbleGen Systems’ Board in March. Robert P. Wayman, former executive vice president and CFO for Hewlett-Packard, joined Affymetrix’s Board in March. In March, Susan E. Siegel, Affymetrix president emeritus, resigned from the company. Under an OEM agreement, BioMicro Systems will manufacture NimbleGen-branded hybridization instruments and chambers. SciGene and Baylor Immunology Research are collaborating to develop a system for processing Illumina BeachChip microarrays.
