Picarro launched the G2131-i isotopic carbon analyzer, with a performance specification of 0.1 per mil precision for 13C/12C ratio measurements in carbon dioxide in a five-minute measurement and 0.5 per mil or less drift over 24 hours.
Mettler-Toledo released the FlowIR FTIR spectroscopy instrument, which can be placed nearly anywhere along a reactor setup. Each unit weighs 6 lbs.
In September, B&W Tek enhanced its portable i-Raman spectrometer to offer an 830 nm excitation wavelength option in addition to 785 nm and 532 nm configurations. The firm also released the BWIQ chemometrics software for use with its high-resolution Raman products.
B&W Tek introduced in October the handheld NanoRam for materials identification and verification within cGMP-compliant facilities.
McPherson released the new Vacuum IV Imaging Spectrometer, with 670 mm focal length. The system is fitted for wavelength scanning and imaging applications.
In September, Bio-Rad Laboratories introduced KnowItAll 9, which allows users to store spectra in a user database at the precise range and resolution at which each spectrum was measured.
Perten Instruments released the IM 9500 NIT Grain Analyzer based on scanning grating transmittance technology. It is precalibrated for moisture, protein, fat and more in a wide range of grains and oilseeds.
In October, Implen introduced the All-in-One NanoPhotometer P-Class, its third-generation line of micro-volume spectrophotometers. They include 0.3 µL analysis, cuvette capability and a built-in vortexer.
Eppendorf launched a new Biospectrometer, which is available as a kinetic model, which features a temperature-controlled cuvette holder, and a basic model.
EMCORE launched the PB7200 Portable Frequency Domain Terahertz Spectrometer, which can sweep from 100 GHz to over 2.0 THz in a single rapid scan.
In November, GE Healthcare Life Sciences released the Ultrospec dual-beam, UV-visible spectrophotometers: the 7000/7000PC with 2 nm bandwidth, the 8000/8000PC with 1 nm bandwidth and the 9000/9000PC with variable bandwidth optics.
