Product Introductions

BYK-Gardner introduced in September the portable BYK-mac i spectrophotometer for the quantification of fluorescence light.

SciAps released the portable Navigator absorption spectrometer, which operates from UV through NIR. Designed for field use, it is initially intended for the geochemical market.

In October, CRAIC Technologies introduced the 508 Perfect Vision UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer for microscopes. It can acquire spectra of microscopic sample areas by absorbance, reflectance, polarization, luminescence and fluorescence.

Ocean Optics launched the IDRaman micro, a compact microscope designed for Raman measurements for research, quality control and quality assurance. It utilizes a novel focusing technique, and uses the same focal plane for collecting images and Raman signals.

Ocean Optics released the IDRaman reader, a fully integrated Raman system with Raster Orbital Scanning technology for more efficient Raman signal collection with lower background effects.

McPherson launched the new Commander triple spectrometer for Raman, which works in the 185–2200 nm region with a selection of diffraction gratings.

BaySpec introduced the xSG SuperGamult line of extended NIR spectrometers, featuring improved wavelength coverage and ultra-low noise operation.

Anasys Instruments released the nanoIR2, its second generation atomic force microscopy–IR platform, featuring the ability to operate with top-side illumination, which eliminates the need to prepare samples on a ZnSe prism and enables measurements of a more diverse sample set.

X-Rite introduced the Ci6x Series handheld spectrophotometers for process quality control, featuring UV illumination and optional Bluetooth capability.

Thermo Fisher Scientific released the handheld Thermo Scientific microPHAZIR NIR spectrometer for animal feed analysis.

Edinburgh Instruments launched the FS5 fluorescence spectrometer, featuring single-photon sensitivity and a range of plug-and-play sample cassette options.

JASCO introduced the FTIR-4000/6000 Series Spectrometers, consisting of five models with highly stable, corner-cube interferometers.

Smiths Detection launched the Raman-based ACE-ID handheld chemical identifier for sample identification in 20 seconds or less.
